Family Papers Series, 1920 - 1990
Scope and Contents
The collection, which was accessioned from Demorest family descendant Susan Smith-Peter, consists of two record series that document several branches of the family descended from Peter Austin Demorest over time. One, the larger of the two, comprises family photographs spanning the late 1800s through 1999. The photographs are largely portraits and family pictures that reflect home life. The second, smaller series, contains family papers, including genealogical information, correspondence, letters, memorabilia, as well as related news-clippings. The family papers were created roughly in the years spanning 1920-1999. This collection also contains a digital copy of Susan Smith-Peter's 2025 family biography, "My Lost Wyoming."
