Description

From the Record Group:

This guide is designed to be a record of a curatorial-forward request and materials use log. It has been made public to add a unique access point, provide transparency, and help to tell a story about the administrative functions of the Casper College Western History Center's archival and special collections. Conversations on archival transparency were motivation for developing this record. Hariett Edquist writes in "Epilogue: Reflections on the Archive, "Yet even archives, including university archives that have an obligation to both the public and to their students, have to respond to the new pressures for ‘transparency’ and public clamour for entry into their realm of secrets" (2018). Not secrets, just a set of knowledge practices and effort needed to find and use archival materials. This is a record that will be written into the future and the first version of it will include the years 2025 through 2030. These years will also see the 2nd version of the Western History Center's Program document. The status of this finding aid, if it can so be called, will be "in-progress" for as long as it is maintained.
