Scope and Contents
A collection of various maps of the Jack Rosenthal Historic map collection which depicts the United States and its territiories from 1848-1909; includes Colorado, the Dakotas, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. Maps were created by cartographers Johnson, Colton, Cram, Hammond, etc. Other parts of the collection are related to panoramic views of lands surveyed by the USGS in the early-to-mid-1800s led by the Hayden Expedition, and a photograph of the bestowal of the collection by the Rosenthals from a museum exhibit.
