Scope and Contents From the File: Jonathan Shames was followed by new conductor Matthew Savery from Montana who joined the WSO in 2008 and led the organization until 2018. Savery was introduced to the Casper area with a new fundraiser "Wine on the River" and he participated in several Pops in the Park concerts alongside the Casper Ghosts baseball team. In its early days, the Casper Symphony Guild was a collective of housewives that ran the Symphony, planned its events, namely the Symphony Ball, sold tickets and memberships, and promoted the performances and activities of the Orchestra. Scope and Contents From the File: After an entire season of searching for a new conductor, the WSO chose Jonathan Shames as their next maestro during the 2001-2002 season. The 2002-2003 season "Changes" allowed the new conductor to experience rehearsals and performances with community, implant, and junior musicians, both in and out of Casper and Wyoming.
