Scope and Contents After Peacock retired from the Symphony in 2001, they sought out new, talented conductors to take over the maestro's position. From 2001-2002 the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra embarked on their Season of Discovery, inviting six conductor candidates to Casper to host their own trial concerts. Candidates Nan Harris Washburn, Dennis Simons, Arthur Post, Dr. Patrick Patton, Jonathan Shames, and Alfred Savia each hosted their own concert during "The Search." Scope and Contents From the File: After an entire season of searching for a new conductor, the WSO chose Jonathan Shames as their next maestro during the 2001-2002 season. The 2002-2003 season "Changes" allowed the new conductor to experience rehearsals and performances with community, implant, and junior musicians, both in and out of Casper and Wyoming.
