Scope and Contents
This collection contains the files from land manager Bill K. Heinbaugh and includes ranch and range management pamphlets and catalogues, Wyoming county soil maps, farm and ranch sales from Wyoming, Nebraska, Nevada, Colorado, and South Dakota, cattle and sheep prices and guidebooks, agricultural land surveys and maps. Also included are farm appraisals and financial correspondence with Federal Land Bank of Omaha, Nebraska. Files are mostly from the 1950s to 1980s, though there are others that have dates outside of the usual range in farm and ranch land appraisals. Box 6 differs from the rest of the collection, focusing on agriculture, farm economics, and range management guidebooks with a few files included. The guidebooks and pamphlets range from farm marketing and crop and livestock production to farm commodities and the management of private and state lands and farms, along with other range management topics. This latter information also contains receipts and expenses for sheep units dating back to 1945. Researchers will also find the Statement of the Wyoming Wool Growers Association before the United States Tariff Commission and "The Range Sheep Industry: Its Production, Costs, and Receipts, 1910-1953 by A.F. Vass of the University of Wyoming.
