Biographical / Historical

Maureen Burke Emrich was born in Casper and was the oldest of 10 children. Her parents were Joe and Mary Burke and she was the granddaughter of Mickey and Anna McKenna Burke. She grew up on a ranch near Shirley Basin before her family moved to Casper in 1954. Holding a BA in History from Saint Mary College and an MA in Modern European History from Layolla University in Chicago, Emrich taught Social Studies for the Natrona County School Districe and Humanities for Casper College.
