Scope and Contents

The Casper Petroleum club was founded in 1949 by a group of Casper Businessmen for the purpose of negotiating and discussing the petroleum industry and business in Casper. The clubhouse was originally located in Casper at 117 N Center Street until the club bought the closed "Mine Company" restaurant located at 1301 Wilkins Circle in 1960. It functioned as a restaurant and served as the clubhouse and headquarters until its closure in 2016 due to lack of membership interest. In 1961, a "Ladies of the Petroleum club" was formed as an auxilary of the club for the wives of members. The club served as a major social, political, and business hub for many decades in Casper hosting social and speaking events, fundraisers, and parties.
