Earl C. Pote Photographs
Content Description
The Earl C. Pote Photographs appear to have been lent to the Casper Star-Tribune. The repository described them in context 12 years after their original transfer from the Star-Tribune to Casper College. Pote worked for Pacific Power & Light Company in Casper, Wyoming but was an avid photographer who spent countless hours photographing the state of Wyoming and its wildlife. One can research traces of his photography career through the Casper Star-Tribune newspaper. This small collection of 41 photographic prints consist of power and coal plants, livestock industry and ranches, Native American pictographs and buffalo jump sites, along with wagons, trails, ruts, and other photographs. The only date of creation the repository has for them is 1957. It is thought that these photographs were likely created over a span of years. Pote passed away on May 9, 1993.
