There is a note included with the photo that reads: "This photo gives the pictures of the principal actors of the treaty, by which the Shoshone and Arapahoe Indians ceeded to the United States the northern and eastern half of the Wind River Reservation, bounded on the south by the Big Wind River and on the east by the Popo Agie and the Little Wind Rivers. Looking at the photo and taking the persons from the right, they are; Rev. Coolige, a full blooded INdian, with an overcoat on, Sitting on the chair, Yellow Calf, chairman of the Arapahoe Indians, nest to him in a light overcoat, U.S. Indian Agent, H.E. Wadsworth, next to him Inspector Major McLaughlin, a little back of him with his overcoat all buttoned up, Allotting Agent and former Indian Agent Captain H.G. Nickerson, next him with a cap on, stenographer H.A Duncan, with the star on his breast Dick Washakie, son of the last chief of the Shoshone Indians, next to him with a paper in his hand and a cowboy hat on, is George Terry, Chairman of the Shoshone's who made the principal speech in favor of the treaty, recommending some chamges. Treaty was signed April 21, 1904."
