The Mary E. Hein Wyoming Photograph Collection contains 289 color photographs of various areas and locations in Wyoming between 1970 and 1998. The collection highlights significant geographic features and points of interest, and includes events such as a Casper Parade Day, a community event at Fort Casper, and an Oregon Trail wagon train reenactment.

Biographical / Historical
According to memorial entries from Casper’s Newcomer Funeral Home, Mary E. Hein (1933-2017) was born in Minnesota to Clarence and Maxine Lovejoy. She married her husband Walt Rinehauld Hein (1925-2018), a Navy veteran, in 1954. Together they had two sons, Ron and Randy Hein. Mary and Walt both held numerous degrees in Education. Mary taught grade school for 10 years before becoming a grade school principal in Casper and Walt taught welding at the Natrona County High School until retiring in 1986.
