Oh, Those Naughty, Naughty, Girls
Content Description
"Oh, Thoses Naughty, Naughty, Girls" by Faye Eggert was "originally given at Fine Arts Club, February 12, 1990. The subject was assigned. Metta Martin, Lu Dwyer and Pansey Prugh and Hazel Gay provided music, song and dance. It was requested at the Spring Banquet of the Historical Society at Roberts Commons on April 27th at the request of Kathleen Hemry." The following introduction was provided by Betty Evenson. "For some reason, people think a program about fallen angels or soiled doves or whatever you want to call prostitutes will be a humorous one. But as we read about them and probe into what surely must have been their thoughts and feelings, we found that they were like the rest of us; they had their frustrations and fears, their dissapointments and triumps, their times of discouragement and happiness, as we all do. They were human. Some of the factual material is taken from Walter Jones' book The Sand Bar but we allowed our own imagination and memories full reign. The script of our little dialogue Two Aging Ladies of the Evening Rehash Old Times was written by Faye, with a little assistance from me. The characters are Lizzie White, played by Faye Eggert and Bonnie Baker by me, Betty Evenson. They are seeing each other again for the first time in many years. The time is the present and the place is Lizzie's apartment in the Laurel Gardens."
