Scope and Contents

This record contains manuscripts, both typed and handwritten, by Norman D. Weis, along with photographic prints accompanying these manuscripts. The manuscripts and photographic prints date from approximately 1969. The manuscripts are drafts of the books "Ghost Towns of the Northwest" (published by Caxton Printers in 1971), "Helldorados, Ghosts, and Camps of the Old Southwest" (published by Caxton Printers in 1980), "The Starduster" (published by Prentice Hall in 1980), and "Two-Story Outhouse" (published by Caxton Press in 1987). "The Starduster" gives the account of Weis's building and flying a plane; the other three books contain stories collected from Weis's travels through north and southwestern ghost towns.
