Dean Morgan Junior High School Primary Source Learning Materials
Scope and Contents
This collection consists of a box of 14 folders with information about topics of Wyoming history such a Women's Suffrage, the Wyoming School of the Deaf as well as other facets of potential interest, including Central Wyoming Counties, the Goose Egg Ranch House, Big Horn Medicine Wheel, outlaws, and Wyoming Place Names. Also included are sets of aerial photogrammetric mapping prints for Baggs, Casper, Cheyenne, Cody, Driggs, Green River, Powder River Basin, Sheridan, and Thermopolis as well as a box of U.S. Geological Survey maps for Wyoming. In addition to the maps, the nature of the material in the collection includes newspaper clippings, pamphlets, and published papers and reports. The years covered within this collection span from approximately 1943 to 1994. Some of these aterials were likely held by Dean Morgan Jr. High Library while others were used to support classroom learning by the Science Department.

This collection is arranged alphabetically by series wherein series correspond to the different types of materials in the collection. The series components are Primary Source Files, Programmetric Map Prints, and U.S. Geleological Surveys. Each of these series contains a range of files, some of which have been organized in roughly alphabetical fashion.

Custodial History
The materials in this collection were collected and used by Dean Morgan Jr. High School before being transferred to the Casper College Archives and Special Collections (Western History Center) in the spring of 2022.

These materials in this transfer of files, maps, pamphlets, and various publications and informational materail were not of enduring value to the collecting scope of the repository. The folders that pertained to out of scope subjects and topics were not selected for ongoing preservation and were dispositioned according to Casper College Policy. Material that was retained may be of potential use to researchers, and some of the folders contain information that may be useful for the arrangement and description of other collections in the repository.
Condition Description
Material is in fair condition, though some of the photogrammetric maps are a bit torn.
