Scope and Contents

From the File:

Casper Civic Symphony refers to the post-war condition of the Symphony Orchestra in Casper that started in 1947 with Blaine D. Coolbaugh as its director and continued until 1973 under Curtis Peacock. Under the name Casper Civic Symphony, the orchestra had five conductors: Blaine D. Coolbaugh (1947-1958), Ernest Hagen (1959-1962), Edmund Marty (1962-1970), temporary/assistant conductor Rex Eggleston (1970-1972), and Curtis Peacock (1972-1973). In 1972 Peacock took over the CCS and by 1974 its name changed to Casper Symphony and then Casper Symphony Orchestra in 1978. The name changed again in 1994 to the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra and it is still called the WSO today.
