1959-1962 scrapbook, page 5: Ernest Hagen's Debut Concert, April 26, 1959, 1959-04-26
Scope and Contents
Ernest Hagen was a music teacher in Casper and became the new conductor of the Casper Civic Symphony in 1959 whose members were from the community and later from the Casper College Music Department. Hagen was the first conductor to introduce Pops Concerts to the Symphony, established a new Casper Symphony Guild, and brought big changes to the organization until he resigned in 1962 to continue teaching. The items in this file are pages from the first two scrapbooks in the collection, 1959-1962 and 1961-1966. These scrapbooks further describe in detail through newspaper articles and other documents the history of the CCS under Ernest Hagen's guidance.
