From the Collection:

This Collection is comprised of photocopies of secondary sources primarily concerning the Johnson County War of 1892. Included are photocopies of letters, court documents, written and transcribed verbal accounts of the War and its participants. Additional topics include water rights on the Crazy Woman Creek, the Hole in the Wall gang, various ranches in Johnson County, James Averill and Ellen (Ella) Watson. Original versions of these records are held by various entities/institutions, which were not documented upon receipt in 1991. The material appears to have been collected for personal use before being donated to the repository.
