Curtis Peacock's Last Season, 2001

Scope and Contents From the File: Curtis Peacock was the next maestro of the CCS and spent 30 years in total with the Orchestra. The Symphony gained local and national attention, was able to host some of its biggest, most successful events, and became a true, professional Symphony under Peacock's tutelage. Peacock was guided by assistant conductor Rex Eggleston for the 1972-1973 season, notably his trial run as conductor, and by 1974 he was official. The Symphony had four name changes under Peacock: Casper Civic Symphony...

The next file is on William B. Schilling, the next conductor of the Symphony who called the community orchestra Casper Municipal Band. The item therein is a 1934 program from a performance of the Casper Municipal Band under their conductor William B. Schilling. This is the only program in the collection from the 1930s. Schilling led the CMB from 1929 up until 1942 when the world prepared for WWII. Because of WWII all orchestra operations stopped from 1943-1946.
